Yes good point I do as well,I have Oregon,Washington and Arizona permits which covers a lot of states.
California sucks because you have to be a resident so I couldn't get one and being I live on the left coast I sometimes find myself in that communist country.

When the wife and I toured ,we would typically ride the old U.S. Routes when possible. If we had to make up time we would use the interstate, very rarely though. Here's another book to check out, Great American Motorcycle Tours, by Gary McKechnie.

How long has it been since you slept in a tent? The Missus and I bought a nice truck bed tent last year and did several weekend trips with it.

The best advice I’d give you is invest in a good quality air mattress or a nice lightweight folding cot. Sleeping in a bag on the ground is a lot tougher on the body that it was 30 years ago when we were younger.

Gonna be one helluva trip! Take that for what it's worth. One week worth of clothing and use laundry facilities is the thing I didn't see yet. Even living off the bike, you're limited on space and over packing is an issue too. Twisted said it best though, hope the bank account is ready. It's gonna get more expensive than you realize. As far as food, shop local store and buy non perishable items or buy your supper for that night. Not eating in restaurants is the quickest and easiest way to save money on the trip.

Good luck and Godspeed!

I enjoy Scotty's channel. I have a feeling you need a certain amount of extrovert charisma to live that lifestyle.

I wouldn't last long.

I've seen Devils Tower a few times, as you're coming in to the area, the First View of it from a Distance almost takes your Breath Away. I'll be Trailering the Bike to a Friend's in Texas and Ride to Daytona from there!!

"Wyoming has reciprocity with the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, ..."

You still need to know their rules though. Some may choose not to carry given the hassle.
My CCW Is Idaho Issued but has pretty much the same Reciprocity with States as Wyoming. I have the List, not a Current List but not too old, I'll check on getting another list Printed Just Before I Head Out. ( I Actually Carry a "Permit" for all 48 States but some of the Blue Commie States don't Honor It, it's Called the US Constitution!! I have a Couple copies with me All of the Time! )

Not eating at Restaurants while Driving Truck makes a Big Difference Too. We Used to get Per Dium but Not So Much any more!! That and the Truck Stop Restaurants have gotten, how shall I say, Proud of their Menu Items!! Other than an Occasional Subway for a Salad or Wendy's for a Chili, I can't Remember the last time I had a "Sit Down" Meal at a Truck Stop!!

I've done a few 4 to 6 week long road trips on 2 wheels, they wear you down even as a young buck in my 30's
I've got at least part of the Breakdowns Covered, Harleys Roadside Assistance Program works REAL GOOD, Had "A Chance" to try it a couple of Years Ago, Life Saver!! Hoping the Experience of 5 Million Miles on the Road with a Truck Helps, I KNOW 18 Wheels is a LOT Different the 2, but I'm Thinking it Should Help. I have an idea of at least a few things to expect. 👍😉🤑
