I ain't knocking anybody, I've rigged a lot of **** on bikes I've worked on over the years, but I've never used JB Weld, LOL....

I wouldn't wait till winter. I would order the inner primary, put it on the lift and fix it right when she came in....

****edit**** there's good used primary's all over the place for half the cost of a new one....

JB Weld is curing now, I’ll sand it flush tomorrow after work.

Fingers crossed

If you are going the JB weld route..
Then perhaps evaluation of installing an ez oil drain valve with some white thread sealant in order to replace drain plug should be reviewed.
Basically trying to move away from removal and replacement of plug for fluid drainage.
Clearance would need to be reviewed.

my thought too.

OP, keep us posted on how the JB holds up.

Wondering (?) if you hit a speedbump or the like and it caused the damage.

Would def hit a local swap meet in search of a replacement though.

I had a thought....but looks like it may be too late. Do you have a community college in your area? I work part time at our local community college and they have a weld lab and machine shop lab. If you did, I would suggest you contact the instructor of the weld lab and see if they could do the weld for you. Sometimes they let the better students weld things like that or the instructor may do the welding. Usually at a low cost because it's good experience for a student.
Just a thought.....
