runnin it open

Anyone have any problems running an open air filter in the rain?

I was gonna run mine open cause i thought "hey its just some rain and im moving forward an all. Then I parked my bike at the local water hole, came out an hour later to 4 inches of water on the ground. filter was soaked completely through and had water INSIDE of itwhen I pulled it off. Cover went back on that night.

Its not just the fact that you may be riding in the rain, to think about.

ive been riding with my football cover off for 2 yrs and never had a problem(and ive been caught in some heavy rain)and my bike runs great

Been running an open air cleaner (K&N oiled filter) since last summer, and have no problems. I ride in the rain all the time, and have ridden through hours long downpours without so much as a hiccup out of the engine.
