I am thinking it's some kind of a jack shaft setup sop that tire would fit. Maybe the seller has no idea what he is talking about as far as the 2 speed comment.

That thing is both interesting and awful at the same time. $6k is just crazy though. I suppose MAYBE if you could tie it to a specific builder back in the day who was influential enough to justify the restoration. Even then though....
That bike is cool as heck. It's hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it was well done, just not completed. I'd like to meet the guy who built it. The only thing I don't like is the battery location. I didn't see how he was planning on changing gears but I'll guess the linkage is just another item not finished. Don't let the multiple colors/mismatched parts throw you. After the build is complete, i'm sure he was going to strip the sheet metal back off and paint it. I'm not so sure 6k is too much but it's going to take somebody pretty talented to finish this project.
Since there's the possibility that there are two transmission in there, perhaps he meant a two stage transmission, instead of a two speed transmission. It's likely not available, but I'd sure like to see more about the tech on that.
There was a time the look would not have been to out of line. That is why it did not shock me to see it . Yes it is rough bet the are some pictures somewhere that so it in a better light.
Dam there was a time making it a hard tail. Sticking a springer on it and a seat like that was what it was about.
The style of the bike is one that never interested me. I have a soft spot for little bobbers, but the 70's chopper look has just never been my thing. I am seriously curious about the tranny set up though.
The more I look at it the more I think the big twin primary / trans is just empty. The clutch is still in the sportster half and a little bit of a shifter. That and the right hand drive. Probably had a big twin frame and a sportster engine???
