Default Changing Your Seat

How hard/easy is it to remove your seat? I have a 2005 Softail Deluxe. Thanks.

Haven't looked at any new ones, but my '87 Sloptail had 3 screws; one at the rear of the seat into the fender, and 2 on the sides of the driver's area. Remove the screws, and pull the rear of the seat up and back to loosen it at the nose. When I replaced the seat, there weren't any side screw mounts, so I filled the holes with a couple stainless knurled-head screws.

Not sure about the Deluxe, but my Night Train has one bolt at the back of the seat, and a tab at the front that slips into a slot.

Cheers!

not too hard - the tricky part on my dyna was the strap. You have to wriggle your hand and screwdriver under the seat, while the front of the seat is inserted into the lip by the gas tank. Then once the strap is bolted/screwed on, just attach the seat at the rear fender with the final screw.
