Wouldn't mind attempting a lift on a heavier bike, just to see if I could do it, but don't know anyone around here good enough to ask.
Thanks Ryan. That Honda Shadow...I had one. It was about 500 lbs as I recall. I think any type of lift would get that one up. It would be easier too if there were engine guards.

I dropped my Electra Glide Classic and my Road Kings so many times I've lost count. Just about every drop was either an unsuccessful U=turn or a slow speed practice session. However, there WERE some dumb-azz mistakes that caused some tip-overs too! LOL! But I was younger and in a lot better physical shape then. Actually, I've got no business being on this Ultra Classic anymore. I'm going to get a new bike, with crash bars, that I can ride and practice with, but still pick up by myself.

My driveway has some tree roots under it that cause the asphalt to rise up and creates little humps in the driveway. A few days ago I rolled my Vulcan 500 out of the shed and put the kickstand down and got off. As I started walking back toward the shed I noticed the bike roll forward a little, I had left it in neutral and when it rolled the kickstand was folding up.
I was still close enough so I grabbed it with one hand and caught it just as the kickstand folded up. A half second longer and it would have been laying on its side. Can you imagine if that had been my old Road King or Electra Glide instead of the little Vulcan? If that were the case the bike still would have fallen over and I would have some torn tendons or pulled muscles, LOL.

I had a gravel driveway at home, dropped my Superglide. My right boot heel was under the shock bolt and I was trapped. Couldn't get my foot out of there to save my soul. My son was about 10 years old at the time. He saw it happen, and what he did was stand there and laugh his little *** off. I finally convinced him this was no joke and he had to go in and get his mom. Together they lifted the bike enough that I could get out from under the bike.
