You should go in and thank the salesman. The Sportster is a much, much better bike than any of those overweight "baggers". You need a team of horses just to drag a streetglide out of the garage. Plus, they are pretty much just for old men and fat women. You done good.
Nothing wrong with Sportsters at all. My sister loves hers....
You’re the customer, tell the salesperson to go f*** themselves and buy a Street Glide somewhere else.
Now that you have folded like a lawn chair, maybe spend some time on the Sporty. They’re great bikes and if you don’t lowside it in some grass clippings…maybe think about a bigger bike next year.
HAHA, grass clippings... no you didn't, did you? You did! LOL, cross thread points awarded. Extra point awarded for the necro thread reference.
The salesman at the Forum Office probably told him he had to pay before he could post...

Damn, you MFrs are tough... but I literally LOLd when I read those posts.
I went to buy my first motorcycle and I wanted a street glide but I got told by the salesman that that wasn’t possible so I ended up going with a sportster and I went back about a week later after buying my bike and another salesman told me that I could’ve got a street glide from the start. So now I’m stuck with what they told me I should buy instead of actually sealing me what I wanted! I talked to the GM about the situation and he was no help. He just tried to put me on a street bob with a higher payment so I’m just stuck on what I should do next
I once had a very similar experience. I was determined that I wanted a panhead and nothing else. The salesman(Western Auto) just wasn't cooperating and my financial advisor(dad) told me a 3 speed Schwinn Stingray was all I was going to get for the money I had to work with. It was probably for the best, as the elementary school I was going to didn't really have a parking space for the panhead.
