5 grand that's about all any of the old ones in that condition are worth. I know a fella with a shovelhead top end on a pan bottom FLH ..trying to get 10. a guy offered him 8 I said "you better take it..."
Well ya pressure wash it ,then get it running but it will always need work so do you work on it or ride it and which do you do more of? do you have a huge shop where you can park it as a conversation piece? Bikes like that belong in a bar where people just kind of look at them, while they are eating and drinking, maybe sit on it and get a pic...
78 or earlier because it's a racket type transmission. I don't think it started life as a superglide because it does not have the brackets for the mid controls on the frame or primary cover. Most likely a dresser that some one dressed down. The Vin numbers will tell the true story. No telling if the frame and engine are some the same years either without looking at the vin.
That bike looks pretty rough to me. It would take a lot to get it tip top shape. You have to wonder what's been living in the cylinders.
What does he have? A ton of work and a pile of money to light on fire restoring it. Unless that was my grand dad's bike that he use to ride me around on the tank when I was a tike, I'd leave right where it is.

What does he have here?
Looks to be a bit of a Franken-bike and in terrible shape to boot. Don’t think I’d pay more than 500 for it if for some reason I had to have it. I don’t care what anyone says it’s worth.
