My car gets 10-14MPG. My Jeep gets maybe 16.
The Harley gets about 25.
None of my vehicles are very economical, but if I was really concerned about that I'd have a Honda Civic or some other 45+MPG shitbox.
What Harley do you have that only gets 25 mpg . My 14 King gets about 45 mph. My 2020 Sport Gli6 gets a little better.. with normal riding.. if I want to play it will drop close to 30 mpg.. I can top 47 mpg on both bikes of I keep from fast take.off.. my wife has a 2021 Freewheeler and in normal riding she gets 42 mpg.. We think we.are doing fine in Mi. But I'm not happy with the price of gas with.the government we have now.😡
Is the high gas prices that our current government has going on gas will it dictate how much you ride this summer?.
Also will it dictate how much you spend on the Harley you have now ?.
Also will it effect on getting a new Harley?
Thanks.
Nope, I am not one to be dictated too. I just see it as a part of life and learn to deal with it.
I will ride as usual no matter what the price of gas becomes.
I have all my stimulus money in my safe and will use it for gas money.
I am too old to buy another bike and am really happy with what I have now.
I just wish Wall street would quit screwing us around on oil prices.

As the screen name suggests, I ride an '07 Ultra.
The most likely reason for the low MPG is the type of riding around here, 99% in town w/ plenty of traffic, lights, etc.
I've taken this bike on a few long distance rides too, and the MPG doesn't get much better.
I can usually only get 120-140 miles per 5 gallon tank and I don't really mind...
The high fuel prices are going to change a lot of people's plans in the near future due to inflation.
. I work in the freight business. Diesel is over $5 gallon. The average semi gets about 5 1/2 mpg. Where I work we have a fuel surcharge that changes daily on everything we haul. What we haul tomorrow costs more than what we hauled yesterday. Plus we just had a 5.4% increase to cover other costs. One of our competitors raised 7%.
Trust me, businesses aren't eating these costs. They're all being passed on to the consumer.

1) the government ain't charging me more for fuel
2) this ain't my first go round with oil prices jumping I've seen fuel prices double twice in the past 50 years, and I've seen priced drop, shortly there after.
3) My FLTRi get's better fuel mileage than my wife's POS econo-box
4) My FLTRi has been paid for for over 10 years, no need to buy another, when at 184,xxx this bike is all I need
