The rear wheel by itself on my 11 FLHX is a half ounce out. So there's that. I quit using Michelins after I got a rear that took 5 ounces. I suppose you could get a bad one from any manufacturer though. I did just put a new set of AE's on recently and didn't balance or Ride On. Smooth as can be.

Buddy bought the tire machine and balance gizmo from an Indy cycle shop that closed. Two things - don’t pull the rim weights until the new tire is mounted, observe that red dot align with valve stem to start. Many times that setup is in balance. Number two, clean the bead area in the rim to help ensure a leak proof mounting. He did a set of tires for me, my rims had filthy bead areas. Clean up dry with a chunk of fiberglass window screen works great. Never metal brushes!

yes this is what i was thinking. when i worked as a wrench for over 20 years , mounting and balancing tires. (every tech did there own tires) if i had a tire that needed more than 1 to 1/2 ozs of weights , i knew i would see that car again. i would test drive it and knew it was a bad tire. but we had to wait for the customer to complain first. most didnt. i just know this tire is bad, its very loud. it dosent feel right. good luck getting harley to agree its bad.. they are not cheap anymore. ill try and find another company for tires. Michelin tires dont cut it anymore a thousand bucks for another set. sure wish i had that tire machine that i complained about
