The rear wheel by itself on my 11 FLHX is a half ounce out. So there's that. I quit using Michelins after I got a rear that took 5 ounces. I suppose you could get a bad one from any manufacturer though. I did just put a new set of AE's on recently and didn't balance or Ride On. Smooth as can be.

Buddy bought the tire machine and balance gizmo from an Indy cycle shop that closed. Two things - dont pull the rim weights until the new tire is mounted, observe that red dot align with valve stem to start. Many times that setup is in balance. Number two, clean the bead area in the rim to help ensure a leak proof mounting. He did a set of tires for me, my rims had filthy bead areas. Clean up dry with a chunk of fiberglass window screen works great. Never metal brushes!
