Question Tires and weights

how much weights do you let them put on your tires before you say just stop that tire is no good?? just had a new tire put on my 18 fatboy and they added 2 ozs of weights and i dont like the way the tire sounds or rides. it feels like the front end is plowing and the tire is loud. you have to add more than 1oz the tire is bad in my brain. what do you guys think???

i think you might have 2 things going on here. just the amount of weight that you have should not be giving you the experience that you are getting. take it back to the shop and have them check it again for some other defect.

just fyi, hd says that 3.5oz on your tire is acceptable.

My 2021 EG rode like crap at speed. Mechanic added 2oz to front wheel (there was no weight) and she glides now. I'm guessing they don't balance wheels at the factory? Just slap on some sh*tty tires and out ya go!

Big solid wheels on the FB's - not at all surprised with 2 oz. of weight. If it concerns you - have them rotate the tire 180° and rebalance. There is usually a mark on the tire itself to let them know the heavy point. Red dot sometimes.

This. Well I let the tire shop balance them, then Ride-On in the front. Balanced and smooth riding.

The recommendation for Dyna Beads is usually 2 oz or more, so no, it's not too much on your wheel.

I think the most weights as far as stick on weights I've ever had to use to balance a tire was 1-1/2 oz.
