Default Flash tool?

What tool are folk useing these days to flash their boom units and other modules? I need to do a flash to the boom, but may want to pair fobs/gauges/etc in the future. I ask as my local dealer is a "tool" and prefer to do any work myself than have them cure one and create two new ones...

Techno Research has been mentioned in a few threads on the subject.

i've got the techno research centurion. while pricey, it does do a lot, and you can save some money by buying the 'per bike license' as opposed to the shop version.

I've got Diag4Bike and really like it... it is Pricy though at $1200, but it does not marry to a bike for the stuff you mentioned, and you can use it on as many bikes as you like. The tuning side of things does marry that part to a bike, so if you want to do the tuning stuff with it then you can add bike's, for a fee ($50?), for each additional bike you want to tune with it... but that does not effect the BCM/Stereo/FOB/Lighting/etc side of things abilities.
On the radio, it can access one setting that I am not aware that any other diagnostic software can still do (including HD's Digital Tech), and thats "Disable CarPlay Mic" which actually disables the system from checking to see if a mic is hooked up in order to get CarPlay to work on the GTS head units. Here's a screen shot of my settings from the last time I had it hooked up on my bike

set up like this I do not have to have a headset hooked up to get CarPlay to be available, but if I want to use one I can still plug one in and use it, and it works fine. I do not have WHIM installed, so I am still using a wired headset, when I use one.
Here's there Help Files... which are really basic, but you can get into "toolbox", which is where most of the stuff I use it for is at, and see what all you can access (use "text" to see the functions, their videos suck)

My brother has TechnoResearch's Centurion, per bike version, and it was about half the cost on Diag4Bike, for one bike... then like $50 or so bucks for each additional bike you add to it. From what I could tell they do about the same things on the diagnostic side, except I could never find that one CarPlay mic setting in it. I actually bought Diag4Bike thru my local HD dealer (with a 15% discount), because they are a "dealer" for Hard Drive/American V-Twin products.... which is who sells Diag4Bike in the US
Their dealer locator in the US

Diag4Bike in their catalog (page 478-479)

Edit: just to add... I don't know if one is "better" than the other, and other than the one setting mentioned above, I think they are about the same... and if that one thing doesn't mean anything to you, and if it was just for one bike, I'd probably have gone with the Centurion for the price. As far as the tuning side of either of those two's software I have no idea of their capabilities and know nothing about that...

I hear it doesn't like Rockford Fosgate Stage II, is that true?

Stage II is a problem I have heard (GT/GTS), I have not messed with it... but I have been told Stage II is a dealer flash thing only.

techno research is also an issue with stage 2. apparently that flash is dealer only. and i've heard that if you have the wrong flash, it isn't just that you won't have the best sound quality, but that it just won't work at all.
