I thought you no longer wore a helmet.

Your helmet could fly off in a crash or more likely, your Bluetooth. If you drive around looking at your phone, it's even more likely you could be separated from your motorcycle.

Well I didn’t wear a helmet for a little bit while all I owned were full face helmet’s that were far too hot to wear behind a windshield that offered zero laminar airflow to facilitate ventilation but since starting this thread to extrapolate the thoughts, logic and reasoning of others I opted for the HJC i30 which is much like the Shoei J Cruise but for $50 less which also included a Sena 5S com system and the phone mount is just to take the occasional glance at Google maps to see if my next turn is a left or right to know ahead of time which lane I should be in but it is nice to be able to hear my morning sermons on SiriusXM on my way into (and going home from) work…rode in all 3 days so far this week oh and?…

My problem is I'm only really interested in a bar mount, but the ones I like (Quadlock, Rokform) apparently only fit up to an 1.25" bars. Mine are 1.5" and I don't need a phone mount bad enough to swap my bars out.

Semper Fi, HMX-1/Hollywood '79, I think I know some that went to Blacksheep in 1979/80 after finishing their schooling. I was 6113 CH 53 Crew Chief.

I prefer it in my pocket, no distraction and I'll have it on me if anything happens, you know in Florida (and many rural locations) there are places you may not be found for days if not weeks and months. You can do voice GPS over the Bluetooth. I listen to XM or the music on my iPhone, works fine in my pocket.

No one else in Florida is concerned about being in the proper lane, I see no need in being different, I probably need to remove my turn signals to fit in better (joke).

Tackform has 1.5" options. I use a Tackform (not 1.5") and couldn't be happier.

Go to hardware store and buy longer screws.

I doubt that would work well because the diameter of clamps are generally 1.0 or 1.25

Thanks, I haven't heard of Tackform. I'll look into it. I haven't made up my mind if I really want a phone mount or not, but good to know I have an option.

That would be the problem. If it was a necessity, I could probably "make" it work, but I'd rather start with the proper diameter clamp
