I ran the balance beads on my last set of tires. On my cutires I'm using ride on, it balances the tires as well as seals them up in case of a flat had good luck with both

This is what's in my tires also so far so good been 2 years now.

I have the manual tire changer - No Mar product with all their accessories - on some of the older rims the weights are used due to (in my opinion) wear..... a ding, dent - loose spoke(s), just a worn in type of thing I guess you`d call it, I find if i true those rims, make sure the bearings are good I have no problem and will use ride on, use that in tube or tubeless & it does a great job.

I just got finished doing a tire, using spoons and tourettes, and yes there are beads are on the floor. I need a tire machine that does truck and bike, even a basic one is better than what I'm doing.

I like the Ride On due to me being a magnet for road debris. A while ago here was an expensive shortage of it so I have box of beads sitting around.

I can't see how beads ruin a tire. The worst thing I've seen is Fix A Flat.
$$$$$$ is why.

Lead weights have worked great for decades. They are pennies on the dollar compared to beads. Beads are a pain in the *** when they spill on the floor of your shop, so you have to be careful when removing a tire with them.

If wheels are custom and are chrome or powder coated, then yes, I use beads. Plain old stock wheels? Weights are cheaper and balance the wheel just as good.

I used the Dyna-beads a few years ago in the new front tube/tire on my Road King. The shop didn't have any spoke weights and wanted to use stick on, which I didn't want for cosmetic reasons. No problems up to 85mph. I didn't try the tire without beads, so it could have been good with nothing. Sportster is getting a new front tire next week and I'm going to try Ride-On. Again for mostly cosmetic reasons, I don't like weights especially on the front wheel. But the self sealing feature is nice too.
