OK.... couple serious thoughts here. Did you start the bike and run for about a minute? Then give it a minute or so to drain back. When you checked your oil, did you screw the dipstick back until the o'ring touches then pull back out and check? To be safe and sure, remove the transmission dipstick and check that fluid level.
Do these couple of simple checks and see if this resolves your issue. Let us know what you find.

I’ve been there and done that OP. Did you forget to put the drain plug back in before you poured the new oil in?

yeah....it shouldn't do that....doesn't sound like an error on your part, you can't overfill that primary to that degree...you can overfill, just not past the bottom of the cover
