another bead vs ride-on for balancing thread
Rather than drag up an old thread, the one thing that jumped out at me (from a respected member still active) is this;
I do intend to remove the weights, but curious why the product's claim of balancing action didn't overcome the weights?
Pulled the wheel last night and I have the time and enough experience/aptitude to be dangerous, so I figure I'll save a couple bukz more and convivence factor and just ole school change it myself with hand spoons.
No way to balance it though...so I'll have to go beads or Ride-On juice.
Puncture seal is a good thing, but I'm most interested in balance.
Thus questioning why it didn't compensate for the wheel weights?
all thoughts/insight or comments welcome before I flip a coin to decide which one

I believe Ride-On states you can leave the wheel weights on if you like. Don't know why anyone would as it might effect the ride as the tire wears.
I always remove the weights and never a problem. The added protection of punctures is a bonus.
but balance is most important to me.
Member Notgrownup's experience has me questioning it now

I would suspect, without knowing all the facts, that you may not have had enough Ride On to offset the weights, balance and position of the tire. Think of it this way.... the tire is mounted, it may have needed 10 oz of weights. When you installed the Ride On, you may have only added about 8 oz of product. Not quite enough to offset. I could be wrong. And probably am, but I still swear by Ride On!!
Good luck to y'all!!!
I have both in my shop. Stick on weights in black or chrome, depending on rim color/type, and the beads. My preference is the beads. I dislike breaking down a tire with beads, but just have to be careful, that's all. I wasn't a fan at first and I'm still not a fan boi, but they do give you another option besides just stick on weights.
When I got it back on the bike, first thing I did was test ride at high speed. It was smooth as glass. I am now a believer. Its a tubed tire, so next time I'll probably just spoon it off myself, get a new tube, and add the liquid.
