Sorry that happend to you. I hit a dog with my bike when I was 16, doing 25-30 MPH on a gravel road. Me and the bike went down but I was able to ride it away.
Good to hear that it didn't turn out much worse - for both you and the bike. Take your time, get the bike and body straightened out, then hop back on the saddle when your mind and body say it's time.
Sounds like it could have been a lot worse. You are sore but nothing broken or missing, the bike faired pretty well, and your leather has some real character to it now.
Im not sure how the dog came out, the owner said hes a 16 month old lab, about 70 lbs.
The truck showed up about 10 minutes after I went down, so I was on my feet still a bit dizzy
The conversation;
Are you okay
Ive had better days
what happened
I hit a dog
was it a big black dog
yep
Ive been looking for him
long silent pause
I found him
More bruises are showing up, but Im in surprisingly good shape. I kept ice on everything all night and with my self medication routine, I had a good nights rest.
Ima spend the day licking my wounds and searching for parts to repair the scoot. Big bubbles, no troubles!
