I put over 12,000 miles on my bike in less than a year. I guess it depends on why you bought it. Some guys are more into customizing and some just want to ride. Whatever works for you.
I had a 07 street bob, put over 5500 miles on it. Traded for a 07 wide glide, got 10,000 miles on it, It has been 1 year.
My buddy had a 96 WG, had 30,000 on it. he just traded it for a 99 EGU with 5000 miles on it that his wife wanted.

Seen a 3 yr old American Iron Horse motorcycle the other day with about 600 miles on it that was traded in. I freaked out. Charles said a 60 yr old man owned it. Its up for sale.
Some of usfolks have jobs, families, lives other than riding but we still enjoy it. I usually put about 8,000 miles a year on my bike and my wife almost 3/4ths as much on hers, mainly because I use my bike to get to work and she doesn't.
When I purchased my 03 in Aug 02 had 9 mi it then had to play in the sand. only had about 2500k in Oct 03.not a lotbut last year but a little over 10K and this year currently@12Klooking to get 16K.Great weather this past Fri 70's andsunny but cannot take three kids on the bike so it stayedparked.
