Blue Hylamar works great and never gets hard stays soft so you can extract bolts/screws easily. Don't know about plastic... I bought a wide screen monitor and a monitor arm and I was looking for Loctite all over my house today. The bracket screws into plastic and thankfully I didn't have any from what I read.

I thought it was well-known, like common knowledge at this point, that lock washers are useless.

There's multiple kinds of lock washers aside from the old split spring style, keep that in mind before tossing out ultimatums like that, don't like them don't use them. And yes they do still work just fine on non high harmonic vibration applications.

You want serious retention power use these.

I was reading up on lock washers vs bellville. What I read was neither, thread locker. Ever see a lock washer inside an engine? I have not.

But I probably use more anti seize then I do loctite.

They get lost for one, even if you dont use the split type.

if you have locktite, and dont want to use lock washers which befome foreign objects when dropped into the insides of your motor use safety wire, the only tru way to keep a bolt in place

I have many times. Windage trays are an example and I have seen them directly above two mating helical gears in transaxles, those give me the ******* but I've never seen one fall off.
