I have that experience but I also get more miles out of my tires on the newer bike versus my 02 twink RK and 98 WG. I have 20 RGS two rears and one front with 31k plus miles
Riding style and how aggressive you are with the throttle and brakes plays a huge part in tire wear.
I used to get 2:1 on rear to front wear. On my first lower powered bike and the first front of my dyna. Now I just change them both at the same time since I know my front tire won't make it until I need another rear, even though it still has some life left.
I simply dont understand how some folks are getting 20k miles from a motorcycle tire.
I never do any kind of burnouts, always maintain proper tire pressure, and Ill admit that most of my miles are on the relatively straight freeways and streets of SoCal.
That said, on each of my last 3 rear tires, I get maybe 6k miles out of them.
Brand may be related to that number, but others claim to get near double what Im getting.
Could it be that because Im a big, 62+, 260+ pound fat ***, that Im wearing my rear tire that much more than all of the 510, 185 pounders on here? 😂

Don`t know but I`ve never gotten over 9K miles from a rear
