I'm not implying that, they state it right on their website (note: the price is higher on this one because it has the RDRS option). Most dealers are charging MSRP plus freight and HD surcharge. That's huge. Laidlaw's does not upcharge that stuff:
Freight and the H-D surcharge are not dealer-imposed upcharges, they are amounts that Harley passes on to the dealer (reduced from what a buyer pays of course, but the charges are still there). If Laidlaw's is truly not passing along those charges to the customer, they are the dealer of the century.
I checked with 5 dealers in Wisconsin a few months ago. Everyone said the add ons were non negotiable on a 2023 FLHTK. So I stopped looking. RDRS $1100 Freight $850 Setup $1499 Surcharge $1000
Thats almost $4,700 extra, when I add in the additional sales tax. I already considered the MSRP stupid expensive, no way Im paying the extra surcharges. I just bought a three row VW Atlas for $46k. Thats more than I ever paid for any vehicle, but its only $10k more than the Harley. I feel like its worth 2 bikes.
So Im just keeping my 2012 FLHTK with only 17k miles. In 4k miles its needed a stator and a compensator. If it continues to be unreliable Ill look for a low mileage used M8 or maybe look at the competition. Although I dont see any decent looking competition with a good dealer network, so thats why Harleys still sell.
