I was talking to a sales person today at a large HD dealership and was told that for 2023 there will be no more Road King standard and only the Road King special. Earlier in the year I was told that if you wanted a standard you had to order it. He also said that bikes were selling like hot cakes but I don't know what models.
Everything is selling like hotcakes. Road Glides are being purchased for trophy value at this point.
If they tell you you have to order it, its because the dealership is ordering all Specials. A bike on the floor, no matter what the price, will sell better than one you have to order sight unseen.
With limited supply and Harley's new plan to make less I bet they are selling like hotcakes lol. Hopefully, the quality will come back because the junk they have been putting out these last few years has driven a lot of customers away. I bought a new RGS in 2018 and it will be my last new HD

as long as they are selling as fast as they make them the quality will not increase. Quality costs money
