The speedometer, and presumably the odometer are off on all HD's. If you use a GPS and mark the speed difference it can be as great as 4mph depending on your speed. that's gonna add up. I thought there was a standard as to how much they can be off at a given speed.
It doesn't surprise me that from one bike, or even model/year, it can vary.
I'm more concerned with the fact that I'm putting an extra 3 miles on for every 130 or so miles, meaning the warranty items will be up faster and the bike will be worth less if I sell it.
on my trip to Sturgis we had an UltraSE with us and he took between .5 and 1.0 gallon more fuel every time we stopped and during the 5000 mile plus trip he went more than 500 miles further than anyone else.
