No idea what is going on in their pea brains at the moco HQ, but they put the kibosh on dealers selling outside their areas over a year ago, and the last hold outs finally stopped 12/31/22
Yeah, that was a great idea. Restrict selling during a parts supply shortage. So your dealer who doesnt have the part is allowed to sell it you, and the dealer who does have it isnt allowed to sell to you. Thats not how premium brands service their clientele.

I used Ronnies about a year ago to order a front master cyl for my 06 Ultra. It took 2 months to get it, not because of the MoCo's policy. It simply wasn't in stock. The MoCo's policy might now put the kibosh on such orders. Anybody recently buy anything from Ronnies?
If the MoCo wants us to buy from our local dealers, why can't they setup a National parts website to order parts from, and credit the sale to our local HD dealer? Or is that too simple?

I think they are already doing that. I ordered a tour pack luggage rack from the H-D website last month and had it shipped to my house. All of the emails and paperwork that I got from Harley showed they were giving the local dealer in my home town credit for the sale.

When you order OEM parts directly from the H-D website, it appears your local dealer gets credit for the sale. When I log in, my dealer is shown at the top of the screen.
