71 posts for "do I need these nuts". Thank you sweet baby Jesus that he didn't ask about drilling a 1/4" in his jiffy stand. Lol...

That cabinet circled in red? Nothing but Harley nuts, bolts, washers, o-rings, etc etc....has more storage than what it looks like in that pic.

Hell, I have one little drawer itself dedicated to battery nuts and bolts.

There's also a couple of coffee cans, but the other is easier to get too.......

Same here. I save all hardware and keep it because I never know when I will lose a bolt, nut, hose clamp or whatever. I have multiple chest type tool boxes and have drawers just for hardware. Cheap insurance.

I used to stick a cigarette butt under those square nuts to hold them up enough for the bolts to catch them.

So after testing the voltage of the battery resting it seems to be at 12.2 V.
is this a bad enough reading to potentially completely not start the bike at all and simply access Accessory mode with the trip switch?
The service manual says that this reading would put it at about 40-50% so I presume the battery is done and this could explain the issues?

As I have mentioned. Try using jumper cables to a known good battery and see if the bike works as it should. If it does, get a new battery.

12.2 is low. Electronically controlled vehicles can be finicky on voltage. So yes, that could be your problem.

Those same finicky electronics have to operate down to 9 to 10 volts while the engine is cranking.

If you go this route and its a car battery, make sure the car is not running when you hook it up. Jumping a bike from a car battery can be damaging to the bike.
