At 170,000 miles I thinkhe got his money worth. The good thing is that he still has his warranty.

cam chain tensioners are a problem with many bikes. I know of a few twin cam harleys with over 70,000 miles with no problem and a harley shop down the street from me has one with over 100,000 miles. Luck of the draw I guess.

Terry, Tell Mark I said Hi! As you are well aware, he may have still been riding, but with our recent weather change, I son;t plan on any riding before at least Monday.
The Gerber heated stuff would have kept him warm, but I sure hate it when the weatherman keeps saying not only cold, but another day of wind gusts over 40 mph.
Take care, Art

Wow. Something big must have gone down for him to get banned.

I don't really consider this to be very good longevity of his engine especially the way it was ridden....most all highway. There are other brands of motorcycles known for getting MUCH more longevity than this that perform better, get better mileage and have much more power.
Are you kidding? 170,000 mi. is respectable considering it's a motorcycle engine. I've seen car engines crap out sooner. As for other brands of motorcycles. Yes, some of those engines have lived longer, but some of them have crapped out a lot sooner than 170,000. Yes, some of those engines produce more power, but I'll disagree about the fuel economy. Harley's have some of the best fuel economy if you keep them stock.

I heard about Cuda's Ultra on HST. Poor Cuda! You know he's suffering without it!
