Seat Modification
A very nice solo seat for a <2008 was given to me today. Unfortunately I have a later model road king. Was wondering if anybody had modded an earlier model to fit? Obviously the tongue on the seat is in the way but don't want to remove and destroy the seat in the process if it won't work anyway. any thoughts from seat gurus? Thanks

FWIW-Give it back or gift it forward and get one that fits your ride. Plenty of used seats out there. I’ve been through four myself. I’m selling a solo Mustang on HDF here now.
I’m back to the bulbous two up CVO seat I bought used. It just fits me better.

Some of those tongues come off, and you can modify it or change it to one that fits.
I made one once to work with a hardtail frame.
If yours is solid, and you don't have the means to modify it, do what Oko says.
