Anyone out there got a hammock seat on their tourer? I am considering putting one on to help smooth out the ride on a Road King. Do they work and are they worth the money?
I have the seat on my road king, it is very nice, the wife loves it, a friend sold me his so i was able to try it prior to. My seat only has the fabric support on the driver portion, tried the seat because of the complaints from my wifes portion on my modified stock seat. she loves it.
i have a 2010 scremin eagle heated hammock on a 2010 limited it raised me one inch from stock seat, most comfortable seat ive ever been on highly recomend, wife loves it to i ordered mine through chicago harley, got the passenger adjustable back rest to match really nice outfit. hope this helps
I had one but it didn't do the trick for me. Used it this year on a week long 2500 mile trip and my behind was hatin it. Last year did the same trip with stock seat and airhawk pad and was much better.
May work for others but just giving my experience with it.
...well, I'm thinking about trying this Hammock, because I've gotta couple of disks that have pretty much given up the ghost in my ol' spine. And I like what y'all have to say about it. But I'd hate to spend the big money on this and find that it doesn't take up the impact from frost heaves and the like. This or a police seat is my only hope. I'm getting pretty desperate! I'm afraid that I might have to give up something I've been doing for a long time (riding since the mid 70's). Anybody with back problems swear by this thing? Thanks to the OP for getting this thread going, and letting me barge in.
