[QUOTE=Dynamick;21478856]You think the fine for loud exhaust is bad, wait til you see the ticket for covering up your license plate. [/QUOTE
NY state license plate impairment went from 65 to 300.
I do not think this is true. I know in Philly we have redlight and speed cameras. I have gotten a few speed camera tickets ( I stay off that road now) they do not have to prove you were operating the Vehicle, the ticket goes to the vehicle owner, doesn't matter who was driving
you are completely correct, in fact, a search on Google with show many states have adopted speed and red light cameras. Not only are they in force across the country but the fines are huge compared to NY (50 bucks) and many of the states record the ticket on the license. Don't know how they justify it but it is being done
All these ridiculous fines are most likely to support the illegals, ''they'' got to pay for them some how.
Are fire trucks exempt those have to be the loudest exhaust on the road well a Peterbilt on the J brake.
I guess I am just a frustrated New Yorker tired of dodging countless gas scooters running up and down sidewalks, more recently they are killing and injuring pedestrians walking and they all leave the scene if they can. The scooters and motorcycles they use are not registered or insured and have no plates.
Now why am I pissed off?????these little bastards do wheelies in front of NYPD.
A little personal observation......riding on Crossbay Blvd. Two small motorcycles riding in my lane against traffic passing a paper bag off to a Lexus in front of me. I guess there were Skittles in the bag.
And i should welcome cameras to limit the sound from my bike
The speed cameras here in Eastern Ohio have all been shut down. There are several towns that tried them. I was talking to a local police chief, during a remodel of his facility. He said those contractors basically force the police department to issue the citations. He could excuse a few a week, me included. 27 in a school zone on my way to the police department during the remodel. He hated the system and the backlash from the community. He was all for getting rid of them.
I'm seeing many plates on autos here looking seriously messed-with.
They have had some paint remover or other caustic remove the paint.
Others look like wall plaster slapped right on'em.
Some must be racking up a lot of red-light fines.
Up here the red light or speeding camera fine is just that, a fine, no points and it doesn't affect your record because they cant prove who was driving at the time but the fine still sticks. Money grab in other words.
This may be directed at the causation of the enormous fines in NY but there is, in my opinion a reason for money grabs.
we now have congestion cameras driving into Manhattan, this is 15.00 for cars in addition to normal tolls. MONEY GRAB.
Traffic cameras charging from 50.00 to 2,625 MONEY GRAB.
Being a pet professional I am aware of the Board of Health visiting any pet facility (groomers, daycare, boarding, and vet offices, dog parks) unless you have written evidence of vaccination on your person you will likely get up to 1000.00 fine first offense. MONEY GRAB
But I live in a Sanctuary City.....someone has to pay the bill.
Im done venting, thanks for listening
