This is a brake light flasher module that was on my wife's 06 Sportster. If I can figure out who made it and how it wires into the bike I'll give it to someone that can use it, or just trash it if not. I haven't had any luck, what do you know about it?
I'm sure you did this, but have you tried running the serial, or other numbers of the components through a Google search? Those chips tend to be purpose made and the main purchaser of the chips would be listed.
Beyond that, I've not seen that particular module before. Two wires suggests in and out, likely spliced into the harness between the switch and the light.

I don't see any markings on it at all. I agree that it's probably in and out, and most likely can't be used on a canbus application.
You said you removed it, what was it connected to and how?
Unless it was an inertia device that flashed when you slow down.
In which case you feed the red, fused. and tie in the white red to the brake light wires.
