Sign up for some of your local Harley dealers e-mails or head over and hang around some of the bike nights they have. One or two of the dealers around me will do special events, most often its tattoo artists and leather workers who can do patch sewing. Not as often they'll have Pin Stripers and custom work guys. I went and talked to a few of the pin stripers once to see what they could do for my back fender, OEM silk screen pin striping has some issues. They had 4 guys with some booths setup with binders of their work, asked them a few questions, etc.

This way you can ask them real time, see what the general consensus is and go from there.

I had a guy come to my house and pinstripe my Indian and wife's Lowrider. He charged me $300. But that was 5 years ago.
Amazing talent. He mixed his own paint to get the correct colors.

This is basically what I'm trying to find.

Price is certainly important but I'd like to see some work the 'pinstriper" has done prior to having my bike done.
That is an "art" and you want it done to your liking and done right and multiple layers of clear coat will protect that investment to years.

I had "stripes" painted on my SSR, along with some added graphics over 10 years ago, then clear coated and with the exception of a single gravel ship on the hood it looks as good today as it did when completed.
The work was done by a painter that did my friend's custom "show car" built hot rod. He also painting my friend's Ultra Classic with the same "custom paint color) that he used on the hot rod, but he took the Ultra to a another friend that did the custom "barbed wire" pinstriping.
Not "cheap" work but worth the cost!

You can't see the "metal flake" in the orange pinstripes without sunlight but I think it "pops out" with the clear coat giving it a deeper look.

Currently this is my third longest kept vehicle ever.

Ol’ school pinstripe shouldn’t be more than a few hundred max. I did a bike a few years ago - nothing crazy - just the tip of the tank and fenders. Also had my son’s bike done for his birthday a couple years ago was $200 and that was two colors + tank and fenders + Harley Davidson hand lettered.

Shop around and go to some rally’s and hot rod events to find a good striper. Could even call some body shops and ask who they recommend for hand pinstriping.

I was at my dealer this last Saturday. I ended up talking to a guy that works for a well know custom paint shop. If you know who paints Harley CVOs you know who I mean. He invited me to tour their facility, which I plan to do. I also will be talking with them about custom paint for my bike. This is a high end shop and it will likely be about $4k-6K for a full paint job. But the price will vary by how many of my panels, as they call them, I get done. He also mentioned that some of the painters do side work, so I may be able arrange something that way and save some money.

If you can find a good shop in your area, you may be able to find someone willing to do side work as well.
