I have four but it's kind of silly why. I have two Neotec 2s because I'm too lazy to swap out the dark tinted visor for the clear if I'm going to be out in the dark. So when I saw they were on sale recently for $200 off, I bought another so I can have a day time and a night time helmet. Won't do me any good on a road trip, but if I'm heading out for an evening ride I can grab the right one.
Consider this. I know the suggested method is to destroy them, but what if a person is in a position where he couldn't afford a helmet. Would he be better off without a helmet at all or with a used one that might otherwise be deemed as expired?
