Ya know, I've taken that wire off HD starters probably 30 times and never had to slow down enough to look at how that connector comes off. I would guess the white plastic locking tab locks in behind the black solenoid socket. give it a reach around on the right side there and see if you can get it to come.

It looks dry. I'd shoot a bit of electric parts cleaner in or maybe some other fluid (PB Blaster), then a small screwdriver.
Do not use a BFH on plastic.
I just changed the starter on my '07. That connector is a bit fiddly. You do push on the tab like your arrow shows. It took me a few tries before it just slid off. When it did come off easily, I couldn't figure out what the hold up was.
EDIT: Push on the tab right up against the socket that it's plugged into.
