Yes, the speakers are already marine speakers. You can pretty much use any speaker you want that fits in there, The issue is with the amp you use and the various stats that go into those that I don't feel like getting into.
It would make sense to have marine rated speakers due to the weather. I wouldn't want to spend a considerable amount of money for speakers that won't hold up in the rain.
I'm thinking of a good waterproof speaker that will have long life.

Ive had car audio speakers (JL Audio etc) on a few bikes with absolutely zero issues and I ride in all kinds of weather. There are a lot of riders with car audio component speakers in their bikes.
