The best looking Harleys were twenty years ago and older. Today's Harleys just aren't the same.
I kinda agree as the owner of a 27 year old Harley I purchased new. However, I recently stopped and looked back at my new 2023 Street Glide ( black-n-chrome ) and had the thought... #1 I'm thankful for all that has been given to me but also that In 2024, I'm thankful ( and a bit surprised in this upside down world I now live ) that I can still buy a new a motorcycle that still has some heart and soul of vehicles of the past. Vehicles that were simply made for beauty and function! ( Think a 55 Chevy ). Our cars and trucks that once had shinny chrome fenders now have plastic.
At least for now we can still buy chrome.
If something don't change the only options we will have is blacked out plastic, electric cars, trucks and motorcycles!
For the youngins, its the circle, what goes around comes around. All you/ us old folks should know this trick is to know when and be on board so to speak ride on.

Right now social society is about purple hair, nose rings, listening to influencers and sitting around watching Disney where they’ve killed or humiliated almost all iconic men (Bond, Skywalker, Solo, Ironman, Indiana Jones…..) and replaced them with “It’s” reflecting women.. no thanks I’m glad to NOT be “on board” with what society is currently pushing. But I do get your point style seems to weave in and out. (Bell bottoms, Acid wash, TieDye, beards, Swing music..)

Hipster beards are not manly growths, they are "accessories"
Lol what defines a hipster beard? In the 60’s - 80’s a beard in the professional circles was considered a rebellious statement (Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians office type folk) with some exceptions. The 90’s -early 2000’s it was not as popular but became more accepted when we’ll groomed in the professional circles. Mid 2000’s-present it’s become accepted in those circles.
The Hipster thing in my opinion was actually a try at the “stick it to the man, non-conformity, I wanna work from home” resurgence.. but it morphed into accepted despite their hopes. I never had a beard or even tried to have one in the past for many reasons. Recently I’ve grown a beard and really like it. But I’m doing it because it no longer holds a negative connotation in the professional circles. I’m a salesman.. be all things to all people mentality.
Im not saying these views were my personal feelings about beards.. I’m saying it was what it was. The “hipsters” thing is drying. They can’t brand themselves as much anymore because their symbol became mainstream accepted. Guess they are gonna just have to get jobs and work like men should.
Beards have nothing to do with chrome.. but they are a parallel of fashions coming and going. There is a difference between a fad and a style. A style may come and go from generation to generation to some degree, a fad lasts a few years and it’s usually something we laugh at within 10 years.
