I have a friend who has one, and he says that the battery life is the only downside. The units are rechargable, so you can't just put some more batteries in it when it goes dead on a long ride. He claims that the intercom time is, in fact, less than what the company says it is. That's something to keep in mind.
it appears that this set attaches to helmets???? has anyone here know of a system simular to a "hands free" set???? without a helmet on? something that goes around your ear with ear piece and mic..I have been searching, but no luck. someone has had to come up with that idea?? any help is appreciated.
ride on, ride a lot.
Yeah, from reading some reviews, it appears there only two downsides: One is the battery life. The other is you can only pair twointercoms ast a time, so you can only communicate w/one other person, not a whole group of riders. Everything I read though says that the item works great, sounds great, and has good distance.
I like Blueknights idea of having w/a boom that just hooks to your ear and not the helmet.
I think if I bought one of the Interphones, I would just hook it to my HD FF modular helmet and leave it for the long trips. I don't know if I would need it or want it for the shorter trips I might wear my half helmet on.

Here are some links. I have a motorola that works pretty good. Can't hear chit when on the bike though. Pipes are too loud. [&o]
I ride with a helmet and I use the Cardo Scala system. It attaches easily and you can recharge it on the bike with the optional 12VDC car plug. Battery life stays consistent with 9 hours of straight use.
For those that want some type of communication without a helmet - you can try to use a bluetooth wireless headset for your cell phone. It should work the same as the headsets.
