For my 2007 Road King Standard .
Before I picked up my new bike I had the OEM handlebars replaced with a set of Heritage Softail Classic bars. Seemed a litttle better. Then I replaced them with a set of " Road KIng Reduced Reach" bars which seem not to have helped my comort or lack thereof even a lillte bit.
Where do I go from here ? I have seen a company ( helibars) that makes a handlebar config. that runs about 800. or so and they look like they would be quite confortable.
Suggestions solicited.

I put on a set of Wild1's ten inch mini apes on my RK, all I can say is they are absolutely perfect, bring you back and raise you up a bit, all new cables, cost a bit but well worth it.I sit in the saddle now and not leaning forward. Like I said, perfect.

What was thecost and did theHD dealer do it? Last I hear it was around 1k to do this because of the need for all new cables plus mine are braided so maybe even a bit more...any more info would be helpful...
About 1K,had an Indy do the work, very happy with the results.I'm a short guy,so the new bars plus a Corbin close seat makes my ride a custom fit for me.
I put a Heli-bar kit on one of my sportbikes. It made a huge difference.
On my RK I put a set of Wild1 8" Baby Apes. (513s?) It has made a big improvement from the stockers but still not ideal. (IMO) I had to swap out all the cables, so I went to chrome controls, braided lines, andput afork kit and springs in at the same timeso it was a pretty big job. Having the dealer do it would have bankrupted me. $1000 would have been a bargain........let them go broke doin' it.
Note that pic in my sig is PRIOR to doing all this.
