there is a songwriter/singer born in tupelo mississippi by the name of paul thorn. before doing the music thing he was a boxer and in 1987 fought roberto duran. he lost. later he wrote a song about this and titled it "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail".
so over the 3 day weekend i replaced my garage door opener. had the HD over in the left side of the 2 car garage.
last thing was to staple the wires to the beams overhead which i did with ladder and hammer.
everything done and time to clean up and put away.
so i foldered up the ladder and was leaning it down when the hammer which was left on the top slide off and made a b-line for the front fender of the ultra.
i now have a very clean shiney 2007 black cherry ultra with a big ole dent in the front fender.
"i'd rather be a hammer than a harley" came to mind
i am thinking that maybe i can say it was a big ole bug that i hit on the way riding back from sturgis. what do you think?
I just saw Paul Thorn in concert in Charlotte, NC a few weeks ago and he is incredible!! He performed Hammer and another great song of his-Mission Temple Fireworks Stand! I highly recommend his music!
