To secure my quick detach trunk on my road king classic I drilled a hole and tapped it for a 1/4 20 bolt. Once the trunk is installed. Put in the bolt. This will prevent the latch from swinging open.

Man, if it's that bad where you are, maybe moving would be a better option. Wow.
You do know that you can travel to other places with a motorcycle?..... right?
Have you ever left your bike outside a hotel?
Ever stop to eat off a freeway in a big city?
Ever stop for a cold one at a dive bar?
Or do you just pull your bike out into the driveway to show the neighbors how bad *** you are.

That's a good idea IMO. I'll have to think about it maybe use a small key lock instead of a bolt. I've seen the locking docking latches but they don't seem like they'd work very well with a tour pack, rather it'd be difficult to get the key in once the pack was mounted.. Another concern I've had is gas cap is to easy for someone to just push the button and unscrew the cap then put whatever in the tank. Along with the ease of removing the seat with one screw. My other bike has locking gas cap and seat with the ignition key and that's a more secure design IMO and I don't worry as much with it.

All the above....just not in crap holes. Evidently I'm one of the lucky ones. Man, it must be rough where you are. So you care everything with you every time you get off the bike?
Things are sure different on the other side of the fence. Good luck, It sounds like you might need to worry more about the whole bike being gone over a rack.
Just re-read the badass part - That's funny. I do not have any direct neighbors, and they sure would not think I'm "Badass" because I have a bike or bikes, in my case.
But funny either way.
