It’s almost shocking the number of new Road Glides showing in on-line inventory with local dealers around here. It’s like Harley thinks the little guys are made of money.

What is it you think will happen? All of sudden big Harley touring bikes will be dirt cheap? How would they do that, there isn't that much margin in the bikes. Or are you proposing they delete boatloads of content from the bikes - dual discs, ABS, electronics, etc - you know, so they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of competing. Or what? Maybe an entry level bike based on the old Sportster engine that can't pass emissions requirements......anywhere. Ca'mon you rocket scientists....what are proposing? Let's here it, you big money guys. Let's see you bet your retirements.

They should've put M8 heads on a sportster and continued the model relatively unchanged. It would pass emissions then. They should go back to the program where you trade in your Sporty and get full MSRP on it like they used to do. What a brilliant way to get someone to keep buying your product and trade up! They should bring back a mid-level bike that looks like what we see (or what I see) as a traditional Harley with a swing arm that has twin rear shocks you can see. If the bagger series can run at high speeds on a race track Im sure they can work just fine on my street bike with posted speed limits. For me the softail is long in the tooth and the look of trying to emulate a hardtail bike from 1957 and earlier is too far removed for young people to see the connection. Sure keep making the softail but add another frame and build some cool stuff off that. If they made a bike like a softail standard but with twin outboard shocks (or even a dyna again) I'd buy it.

No easy solutions here. Harley had 3 main goals, make touring bikes their priority, make Harley a premium brand and start an electric bike division. The last one is a money loser, the first two have some merit but the execution wasn’t great.

Just imagine what they could've done with the money they blew on the Livewire and these electric scooters for kids, the charging stations, the small bikes without pedals, the mind boggles.

Last week I asked my local dealer what model is selling the best right now. 3-wheeler. I don't see that as a good sign

If Harley shuts down, where will all the pirates go? Lots of ink out there that may get covered up. Who is CHarley Davidson?
