After my latest road trip I'm convinced that I need a FF helmet for those long Highway rides.
Yesterday I did a long ride home from a group ride that met up out of town for a ride through the Palo Duro Canyon.
I just hate how hot helmets are in the Texas heat.
I'll be checking out the LS2 Advent X Carbon and others. Thanks for the review Razorback.
Looks loke a good option. I have an LS2 carbon full-face helmet. It replaced my non-carbon LS2 that was getting old. Much lighter, but slightly noisier than the non-carbon version.
@Cosmic Razorback Were you on 19E today in North Carolina around 1pm?
Hey Scott,
No, we rode 400 miles yesterday in the eastern part of the state. But did not get out today. Sorry we missed you. It sounds like you were on an Ironbutt maybe.

I really need to buy a new (1/2 shell) helmet but my (personal) problem is that my head is more "oval" than it is "round".
The last 1/2 shell that I bought (years) is a LARGE (with a drop-down sun-shield but it is loose on head and I have to wear a "doo-rag" under it to make it a snug fit but when I tried it (and others) on it seemed to fit just fine and a MEDIUM was too tight and was not comfortable.
There's a Cycle Gear shop not too far from me so I'll try them first and then go from there.
My FF Modular seems to fit me quite well but I only use it when necessary but IF I could find a lighter model I may be tempted but at my age (I'll be 75 before next riding season) I might be able to make the FF Modular last for as long as I need and use it.
Thanks for the helmet review...it gives me something to think about.
I recently picked up a Scorpion Covert Fx in white from Cycle gear. The shop guy installed the Cardo second helmet kit and it really rocks. Harley has the same helmet, I think it's called the division x15 helmet, but it's black, and in South Florida, that means hot.
The fit is different. The helmet actually cradles the chin area more, and sits lower than a regular full face helmet. Huge eye port, and it's unbelievably light. I'm guessing less than 3 lbs in a medium. For me it's perfect, but others would have to try it in and see if it works for them.
Plus is I still hear tunes at 80. Speaker pods are lined up great. I had to re measure my head with a cloth tape, where I am now solidly medium. Been wearing smalls, but they suck in comparison. Trust the tape. Most helmets you can change the cheek pads if you need to adjust the sizing.
I might go ahead and look at the advant x. I can see why a modular would be cool to have. Thanks for the review.

What do you mean exactly by sits lower? If you mean that it sits down on your head further, so that you are not as tall from the floor to the top of the helmet. That might be what Im looking for.
