lol, the best i can compare a storm to is a full frontal tattoo all at once. I dealt with it by getting a full face and never looked back.

Same here.
I wear a half helmet and glasses.
The rain stings at first but then your face gets used to it.
I've thought about getting a neck gaiter just to keep the road grime off my face while riding in the rain.

It's called a windshield, glasses and a full beard.

I ride around 80 mph in most rain unless its torrential. Even wearing a decent rainsuit, youre gonna get a little wet. i think its more mental attitude than physical. A few years ago, I rode 13 hours in rain from Daytona Beach to Winchester Va. A decent windshield is good to keep most of the elements off you.

For me wearing prescription eye wear safety comes first. I used to carry a 3/4 with full shield. But last year the wife and I bought new modular helmets.

The LS2 Advant X allows for open used as a 3/4 safely and then you just move the chin bar over the top for full.protection, especially in the rain. I need a good shield to be able to see.

Best of luck finding what works best for you.
I picked up a LS2 Valiant the predecessor to the advant X and I have been happy with it. Normally I ride with the chin bar back, did 80 miles last Monday in a constant all day for a escort dry the whole time. It's nice to have the option to change at anytime.

No rainsuit or helmet is going to keep all rain drops off your face when you ride for hours in rain. Couple of years ago, I rode 13 hours in mostly steady rain in a cold front along the coast from Daytona Beach all the way to Winchester Va. I also ride at a steady 80 mph on rain unless its a torrential rain. End of day, it's a personal preference thing. Everyone is wired different.

In the 1970s, I wore a 3/4 helmet with a comp shield, Then I graduated to FF after my 3/4 helmet was destroyed in a crash. I bought a half helmet when I bought my Road King. I wore that until I got caught in a total downpour, the kind that makes motorists pull over. Regardless of your speed, there is no way to protect your face and eyes when wearing a half helmet in those conditions, because the rain gets in behind your glasses. Goggles might help, but I quit using those in the 1970s. I said, "screw it" and bought a FF Shoei to protect my face in all conditions.
Half helmets became popular as a way to show minimal compliance with helmet laws. If you don't want to do that, wearing a half helmet is silly. Either ride without a helmet or wear one that really protects you.

If it’s raining hard enuf, nothing works. At least
for me and I got the full modular helmet for cold or rain, glasses and full beard. Can’t see through a rain blasted helmet shield or riding glasses so just have to get wet. RainX hasn’t solved that. And yea if it’s torrential and I can’t see more than a few feet ahead, then the smart part of my brain says pull over but the dumb part says, keep going, what could go wrong

a half helmet will definately offer more protection than none at all.

Brain bucket.

Other wise you will be like a member of our HOG Chapter that had major face reconstruction wearing one when he was struck by a car on his trike and did a face plant.

He is okay now after several surgeries and riding again with full face. He spoke with our chapter and urged everyone to consider FF and other gear.

I have worn my modular 100% since.
