I told my wife that "some guy on the forum was going to send me a bell for my new bike, how nice!" Wow! What a great group. Come to find out Ron is actually the great guy!! Cant wait to meet him.. LOL..
Great idea, if a moderator wants to change my name, thats cool with me..
Update on the bike situation. Dealer said he got a "one day extension" to cancel my bike. I told him go ahead and do so. We negotiated a while on the "in stock" bike, and are close to a deal. I asked to see it, as it was still in the back room. We went out back and it was gone. We did find it in the service area completely torn apart. Apparently the ECU or "something else" is keeping this brand new bike from starting after its bath. Fuel for my negotiations...
Thanks for everyones opinion on this issue. I appreciate it and feel very welcomed to your group.
I don't know what happened, but most dealers sell the POSE/FFSE bike at a SUBSTANTIAL discount....as in it's well worth the wait, as opposed to taking a floor model. I don't have the paperwork in front of me, but I recall I was about $2,100 under MSRP (figuring in a $1,200 credit towards parts and accessories). I do recall it was $18,900 out the door with tax (7%), tag, title and the $1,200 in accessories.
If someone backs out of it, and it's on the floor, I think it's LEO only.....Doesn't count against their allotment, but it's still inventory on the floor waiting for a cop with enough $$$ for a Harley......Might be there for a while.
LEO's and Firefighters should take advantage of it while they can.
The bikes are not the same, and the dealer was not lying about the allocation. He does not use allocation for POSE's, FireFighters or Shriner bikes, and the bike on the assembly line cannot be changed to a standard Ultra Classic. The POSE's, firefighters and Shriner bikes have a letter in the serial number that designates themall as Shriner bikes. So, it is not just the badging that sets them apart. The dealer also gets them for a lower price than they pay for their allocations, so they can pass the savings on to you.Mine was considerably less than a standard model.
Also, according to my dealer, the bike can't just be put in stock if you don't take it. It has to be sold to a LEO and that LEO has to sign an agreement not to sell it for at least a year.
I know how hard it is to wait for a bike, but if I were you, I would wait for the POSE. It is unique, and not everyone can just go down and buy one.
I do agree with the guys with POSE bikes on that point they are more unique and if you are a firefighter, police or military they are much more unique. but if its cancelled now you still cant go wrong with the ultraglide. have fun running it. i did not know that the 08 police models were 110 cant see the HD site. do they make a dyna police bike this year

The POSE/FFSE/Shriner bikes are spec'd out like any other, except they are all considered "Shriner" edition (Don't ask me why..they just are...says so on my VIN...Don't know why). A "Police" bike is a different animal.
