There was something going on inside & it's better to listen to your gutt feeling than not.
I find by listening it hasn't steered me wrong yet.
Tomorrow is another day.
Take care
Riding should be fun. If you have a "bad feeling" - for whatever reason, you're not going to enjoy the ride and you might end up losing focus on the environment around you. Not good. Park the bike - the feeling will pass and you'll still be around to enjoy the ride some other time.
funny, i had this "feeling" but it was different as to the cause. few years ago took what was supposed to be this twistites ride up and down the mountains, not more than 150 miles round trip with a friend and mine's crotch rockets. The type of bike that after an hour your back is crying for you to take a break. Well ended up going all the way from LA to San Luis Obispo. Which was roughly about 250 miles one way from the roundabout way we went. It was a fun ride in nice sunny weather.
The return trip which was just a tad shorter, at about 210 miles. While i had the right gear for the day, the evening and night i was not prepared for. I was totally uncomfortable, thighs were frozen and lower back was absolutely killing me. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life on a bike. Just getting off the bike to refuel i was so stiff that i was afraid of topling over. My senses and therefore reaction times were way off.
That feeling that you describe, actually became part of my excuse for not riding for pretty much 10 months at the very least. I always had an excuse for not riding. I probably put in 250 miles that whole rest of the year. I just didn't trust myself on that bike after that experience.
While my example is the extreme, it took getting a Sportster for me to get back into riding my usual 6000 miles a year. Luckily that "feeling" only comes around every so often
Ronster,
Yes. Always listen to your Angels. Always. Sometimes it is easy to forget that we use but one, very small, almost puny part of ourbrains. Our minds know so much more than we are aware of. When in doubt, do without and your humility will always save you.
