My wife is the reason we traded the fatboy for an Ultra. I'm glad she insisted! As far as her knees go, the best thing you can probably do for her is let her have an alternate foot position. My wife loves the boards but alternates between them and the Kuryaken adjustable pegs. Don't know what I'd do without my highway pegs, so I can relate.

Footboards, definitely. My wife used to ride on the back of our Street Bob (pegs)with me. But, since we've gotten the Road King (footboards), she doesn't complain any more about her kneeshurting her.

Footboards are standard on the ultra but mine wanted to have adjustable pegs to go along with them and that helps to give her mor options when it comes to comfort. Think about it. We can have highway pegs and that allowes for us to move our feet to stay confortable so why not something for them..... Mine loves it and so do I when I have something to rest my arms when they get tired....
