Custom chrome makes anice set of rider floor boards ($60-70). My wife loves em, she can go a lot farther over stock pegs.
Or you can get the ones from HD for $300+, but i bet she'll like boards better than the pegs.
I've got the offsets from Kuryakyn on my Dyna, and it has helped a little for my wife and her knees. Imay have to give the floorboard idea a second thought (I dismissed it on first thought).
As it is right now, I have to stop and let her off about once an hour. Not a bad thing when just tooling around town or going for a short country ride... but all day rides get long in the tooth when you have to constantly stop like that. You can't get much long distance riding in making all those stops (jeez, it would take us seven days to get to Sturgis)
Having a SO that wants to ride, but just isn't comfortable (physically), really sucks for everyone.
I've never been on a bike with floor boards...I'm 5'1 but haven't been able to ride for a yr due to a hip injury and tailbone injury at work. Honestly a floor board would probally be much easier on me. I went to renew the operators license to ride and with my hip can't even turn the bike etc...so no more on the solo but if there was floorboards...I would love to get back on a bike.
my wife when she first started riding was always squeezing with her knees the best thing is just take her out on some slow back roads and teach her how to relax then she will start getting comfortable and no longer squeeze with her knees. dont go showing off when you first start breaking them in. flooeboards or heal rest will be a flart surface but you can fing adapters that move her leg positioning around to a more comforable place
V-Rod, but I only put them on if we are going more than 250 miles. Pegs only. I don't think it is an issue with the pegs completely. Floorboards may be easier for her, but I think it is more of a knowledge and comfort of riding. As hdpearson13 has eluded to, the knowledge can be readily taught if your patient. Miles on the bike and comfort in your ability will help. (Not saying or implying that she is not comfortable with your ability but that comfort will increase as your miles together do)

No offense taken!!
I do think there is a bit of "technique" she needs to learn, but I dont know how to teach her!

Wife - Do they make runningboards? Me - You mean floorboards? For a Wide Glide? Can I just say no? Wife - Do you want me to wiggle? Me - I could leave you home... Wife - You would find a FOR SALE sign on the bike... Me - I'll order the floorboards tomorrow...
Floorboards are installed and the wife is content, not happy, just content. She won't be happy until I have an Ultra Classic or a Gold Wing. Yes, she tells people she wants me to get an Ultra or a Wing. Apples and oranges???
