If I want to ride side saddle with both legs on the primary side what is the suggested rear shock setting?

I asked if adding my trailer for a trip with about 40 lbs of tongue weight would require me to change my preload to number of clicks. He said I should be fine leaving them as is but if I felt it was too soft I could add 1 turn of preload.
