What a Ride!
Anyway....tonight it all came together for me. After a few 1000 miles I'm getting much more comfortable with my ride. We are settling in together and starting to mesh!! Had some time to ride after work. Scooped about a 50 mile loop. Fall has came in with a fury this week....Boy the ride was great. About 55 degrees out with not a breath of wind. That brisk fall air hitting me in the face as I rode...so fresh it almost took my breath away. The sky just a huge blue. Harvest is just starting here in Iowa....the smell of freshly combined corn and turning crops as I rolled down the old curvy 2 lane county road. The glow of the evening sun and the beginning of fall colors......The bike was running great, sounding great....feeling solid and tracking like on a rail in the curves. Farmers and people out doing yardwork were throwing the big wave out. No traffic whatsover to deal with. I had some Elmore James playing on the cd player....This was exactly what I wanted when I decided to get a motorcycle. I couldn't stop grinnin'
I love it....I don't worry about work, or crap....I'm just rolling down the road....it's great. It really refreshed me and wiped away the stress. Riding makes working all the time almost bareable. Don't know what took me so long to come around.....I should have gotten a Harley years ago!!! I'm allready looking forward to all the other miles and trips I put on this bike. It's not the destination.....it's the journey....I think I'm finally on my way!
Don't know what the reason for this post is....mainly I just wanted to say thanks for sharing all your info and experiences....it all was a huge help to this beginner.
Here is a pic of my SG I took right after I got it.
Got back into riding after 40 years. Know the feeling. Am on my second bike in 3 months, started back with a Sportster. It was like I never got off my 1957 Triumph 650.
