My 95 Ultra has a carb and I'm the only one in our group who has to choke and crank, then make sure it will stay idling while it warms up and then at the first redlight, it might want to die out. The other guys just crank and smile. Also , they get better mileage than I do. My next bike will be F/I
I had the carb and it sounds great with the slow idle. The EFI with a fuel management system you can do the same thing, and like everyone else said with the EFI you just crank and go.
The only downside I have with the EFI is I have no reserve. Otherwise, I love the EFI. No "enrichment" needed.... But I have sucked seat leather when I felt the bike sputter whenI was out in the middle of ruralGeorgia not paying attention to my gas situation. It sucks riding and praying you'll make it to the next station.... which I did make it towith no pushing!
all you guys that just "crank and go" might some day regret that.
It's my opinion that even EFI bikes need to warm up first.
The old axiom is that you warm the bike till you can feel the heads getting a little warm. Not talking about 5 minutes, but generally a couple minutes or so. That's the way we've done it since I was a kid, and the way I'll continue doing it.
I have a carbed and an EFI Harley. If I could have only 1 the rest of my life, I'd want a carbed bike.

Like I've said before, I had a brother switch his 98 EGC to Carb. He got sick of getting beat of the line by a 1985 bagger. He had a break down (when EFI) in the middle of no where. A sencer went out and he HAD to get the part at a HD store. That was the last straw, he switched to a carb.
I have both and like the carb better. Way cheaper to switch out jets then buy a fuel manager.
