If the motot was broken in and basically sound I doubt if you hurt anything. I have a friend who I help with his dragster. He turns that darn thing 10-12k all of the time in the shop. He says that if it is going to come apart it is going to come apart, and he would rather it puke in the shop than on the track.

Not at all, that is what the limiter is for.Actually,is was on the limiter several times the other day,so I stepped it up a notch.

It is harder on the engine (Grandpa is correct) to rev the engine with no load on it but hitting the limiter with a missed shift is not going to hurt anything. The worst part is anybody within a few blocks knew you missed a gear.
